Strengthening our production capacity

At Zerbimek, we continue to advance in our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. In recent months, we have taken a very important strategic step to strengthen our production and competitive capacity: the introduction of two new Lagun Machinery machining centres and the automation of one of them with the Nachi MZ12 robot. Both the machining centres and the robot are now operational at our facilities.

LAGUN 5-AXIS EVZ630 MACHINING CENTRE

The first of these pieces of equipment is the Lagun 5-axis EVZ630 machining centre. This is a high-precision machine designed for the manufacture of complex and large parts, allowing us to expand our design possibilities and reduce machining times. With travel distances of 850 mm on the X-axis, 820 mm on the Y-axis and 610 mm on the Z-axis, it is capable of working with parts up to 750 mm in diameter and 450 mm in height. Its rapid feeds and range of rotation on the A axis reinforce the machine’s ability to adapt to demanding parts in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, rail, industrial and capital goods.

LAGUN L850 MACHINING CENTRE WITH AUTOMATED ROBOT

At the same time, we have introduced a LAGUN L850 machining centre with an automated loading and unloading system using NACHI’s MZ12 robot, integrated with GarantBasic technology.
This system represents a major leap forward in terms of productivity and resource optimisation, as it allows the machine to work more autonomously, freeing up our team to focus on tasks with greater added value. The robot has six axes, a horizontal reach of up to 1,454 mm and a load capacity of up to 10 kg. It also offers protection against dust and splashes, ensuring reliability even in demanding working environments.

With these investments, at Zerbimek we are strengthening our production capacity and taking another step forward in improving our processes. Success case in collaboration with Automach Engineering

The 32nd edition of the BIEMH, the International Machine Tool Biennial, kicked off with a spectacular inauguration that fused traditional Basque culture with the most advanced technology.

At the event that opened the fair, attendees had the opportunity to witness a unique musical performance. Four robots, together with musicians, played the txalaparta, a traditional Basque instrument, in a demonstration of perfect synchronisation and collaboration. This performance was not only a delight for the senses, but also symbolised the union between technological development and traditional culture.

Behind this success is a multidisciplinary team of companies that have worked together to make this project a reality, one of them being Zerbimek. Automach Engineering led the initiative, with the collaboration of Zerbimek, Kuka, Sick and Siemens.

Automach, known for its innovation in engineering and automation, was responsible for the coordination and commissioning of the robots, while Kuka, with its extensive experience in robotics, provided the robots. Siemens contributed with its PLC, programmable controllers that contributed to the automation of the process. Sick Sensor Intelligence added its sensor expertise for safety tuning, while Zerbimek provided our expertise in machining services to machine the structure and parts that brought all the components together.

The inaugural performance was not only a reflection of the technical and artistic ability of the participants, but also set the tone for the rest of the biennial. Such was the repercussion of the collaboration that the news has been highlighted by several media, such as: EITB, Gasteiz Hoy and Auto Revista.

At ZERBIMEK we are delighted to share a success story in collaboration with Inser Robótica, reflecting all stages of our machining service. Inser Robótica is a leader in the design and manufacture of automation solutions for the final phase of the production line. We are currently collaborating on a project described below, in which our machining service has been crucial.

New vertical machining center

We are delighted to announce the latest news in our machining workshop, we have acquired a new L850 vertical machining center from Lagun Machinery, our trusted manufacturer for vertical machining centers, as you will appreciate if you take a look at our machining centers and lathes park.

As always, our goal is to provide the best machining service to our customers, and to achieve this, we have decided to expand our productive means with a new CNC machining center. This vertical machining center has the following dimensions in its X, Y and Z axes.

  • Longitudinal course (X) 850 mm.
  • Transversal course (Y) with rules 485 mm.
  • Transversal course (Y) 500 mm.
  • Vertical course (Z) 630 mm.

At ZERBIMEK, we have a wide variety of machining centers, both vertical machining centers and CNC lathes. This allows us to adapt to the needs of each project.
